About Dr. Harvey
Dr. Jonathan Harvey is a clinical neuropsychologist and New York State licensed psychologist who provides comprehensive neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults. His work focuses on clarifying learning, developmental, emotional, behavioral, and cognitive concerns and translating findings into clear, practical recommendations. He also provides educational consultation and collaborates with families, schools, and professionals to support thoughtful planning and passionate advocacy.
Dr. Harvey earned his Ph.D. at Fordham University. His clinical neuropsychology training included a rigorous neuropsychology-focused internship and two-year postdoctoral fellowship in New York City, consistent with the Houston Conference model for specialty training in clinical neuropsychology.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Harvey is a full-time faculty member in the School Psychologist Graduate Program at Brooklyn College, CUNY, where he serves as a Doctoral Lecturer and Internship Supervisor. In this role, he teaches and supervises graduate students preparing for professional practice in school psychology. This faculty work reflects his broader commitment to careful assessment, ethical practice, supervision, and the translation of psychological science into practical recommendations for families, schools, and clinicians.
Dr. Harvey’s clinical work centers on careful differential diagnosis of neurodevelopmental, learning, psychiatric, and cognitive concerns. Evaluations integrate cognitive, academic, behavioral, emotional, developmental, and psychosocial data to clarify the factors contributing to a person’s functioning. The goal is not only to identify diagnoses, but to explain how findings appear in everyday life and to provide practical recommendations for school, home, treatment, accommodations, and care coordination.
Dr. Harvey is a Diplomate of the American Board of School Neuropsychology, a Nationally Certified School Psychologist, and a member of APA Division 40, the Society for Clinical Neuropsychology. His peer-reviewed scholarship includes first-authored work on PANDAS research in relation to the neuropsychology of OCD, as well as publications on autism and emerging symptom patterns in children.
When clinically appropriate and with written authorization, Dr. Harvey coordinates with schools, physicians, therapists, psychiatrists, and legal representatives to ensure that evaluation findings are accurately understood and translated into practical recommendations.
